While on vacation an opportunity came up for us to move to Maine so I
have spent the past month getting our house in order to sell. Now the
house is ready, I am caught up on orders so I will able to write again.
The
boys did great on vacation, it was very relaxing and we all had a lot
of fun. It was great to be able to play in a yard without dogs barking
at us or kids taughting the boys. We had snowball fight, made a snowman
and found bear tracks. This was the first vacation I actually relaxed, I
think the Zoloft helped with that. We did a lot of swimming that week
and the boys loved it, they are little water bugs. Donald made friends
with some kids from Canada and will be writing to them to stay in touch.
On
the way back to RI we went to Maine for one day and stayed at the boys
grandparents house. The boys did a good job behaving themselves with all
the nick nacks in the house. We took them to the beach and they played
on the playground for a while. It will be fun to take them to that
playground when we move.
We almost made the vacation injury free
but in the last hour before we left Kyle tripped and fell. He hit his
head on a hutch corner, he was bleeding bad. I hate the first time a
baby bleeds, well anytime they bleed but the first time hits harder. The
cut was about 1/4 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep. The Doctor wanted him to
get stitches but with Kyle's sensory issues, he would have never let
anyone near him to do stitches. His Doctor agreed that we should not put
him thru the trauma of stitches. So I cleaned the cut and put a
butterfly on it, then a large bandaid to cover it. He did well leaving
the bandaid alone and it healed great. He will have a small scar but he
will not have a scar of the trauma of stitches.
I think the
vacation went so well because of all the planning I did. The planning
took longer than the actual vacation but it allowed things to go
smoothly. I think for the next few years we will keep vacations to
driving distances. This way we can bring weighted blankets, toys, food
& other items to keep things familier and comfortable.
