Sensory Overload (original date 3/1/2010)

As I  said yesterday we had two weeks of Sensory Overload. Donald's alignment was off and so was he. Every little thing that happened he had a meltdown, he spent a lot of time in bed that week. I understand that when his alignment is off it is harder for him to rationalize things but he needs to learn to control his meltdowns. Some may feel that our approach to his meltdowns is hard but we feel it is important to teach the boys how to cope with things in the world so they will succeed at their careers & marriage. On the Monday of that week I took him to our Chiropractor and he got an adjustment. He was better for a day and then his alignment was off again and he was melting all the time again. He got another adjustment and has been better since. By the time Donald got his second adjustment, Kyle had gotten an ear infection. Between the infection and the new meds he would just cry & cry on and off. I spent the week giving him brushing treatments, deep pressure massages & big squeezes, they would help him relax for a couple of hours then it would start all over again. It is hard to know what was going on as Kyle does not register pain at a regular level so we know it wasn't pain. I can't wait until he talks more and can tell me what is going on and what he can feel.
